RAFY OLMEDA BIOGRAPHY

The son of a musician, Rafael “Rafy” Olmeda picked up his first guitar at age six and immediately fell in love with playing it. By the time he was twelve years old, he knew that making music would be his life. Fast forward a few years and Olmeda found himself working in residence at Orlando’s fabled TransContinental Studios, laying down tracks with artists as diverse as Kesha, Brenda K. Starr, and Jordan Knight (New Kids on the Block) Rafy toured internationally, performing on "Univision InStudios" with Luis Enrique, at Walt Disney World with Sheila E. for a live video concert, performing with LFO, as well as with Luis Fonsi and Salsa singer Tito Nieve.

Olmeda found himself in the O-Town Band for the MTV/ABC reality show “Making the Band”, elevating his musical journey to new heights. International touring followed, including a live concert recording (O-Town Live from New York) along with an appearance on ABC’s Good Morning America, playing live in front of an audience of millions of viewers. Rafy credits these experiences in developing his sense of musicianship, performance skills, and professionalism as well as giving him a window into how the top levels of the music business work. After touring and continuing to expand his musical journey, Olmeda decided that his natural evolution after being a working musician was to become a musical director of his own band.

Inspired by late-night TV musical directors like David Letterman’s bandleader, Paul Schaefer, and the Tonight Show’s Amir “Questlove” Thompson, Rafy formed CNERGY Music, uniting himself with multi-talented musicians and singers. Olmeda serves as musical director as well as band leader, but most importantly, he’s the visionary behind the music and performances that make clients happy and audiences smile.
